Costa Blanca Markets
Visiting the local market (or rastro as they are known in Spain) in the town where you live or going on holiday is the way of life on the Costa Blanca and is an experience not to be missed. Each town has a set day of the week for which a market is held every week. If you are holiday you want to get to your local town’s market to experience a taste of Spanish culture.
Calpe
Saturday: authentieke Mercado, the biggets of the region
Wednesday: Rastro nearby the Municipal de Deportes.
Denia
Monday to Saturday: ‘Mercado Municipal’.
Monday to Friday: From 17.u to 18u .There is a fresh fish counter in the port, selling what has been caught that day.
Guardamar
Sunday: Mercado del Campo. S A busy and pleasant market with a real 'eating street' for breakfast and lunch.
Wednesday: large Mercado with more than 300 stalls at the Plaza de la Iglesia.Een drukke en gezellige markt met een echte ‘eetstraat’ voor ontbijt en lunch.
Benidorm
Saturday and Sunday: Rastro ‘El Cisne’, small but cozy
Wednesday and Sunday: Mercadillo next to the Hotel Barceló Pueblo.
Alicante
Monday and Saturday: Located on the central shopping street of Calle de Alfonso X .
Spread across the two storeys there are a total of 292 stalls and vendors selling meat, fish, vegetables, fruit, flowers, pastries, bread, herbs, spices, and plenty of local speciality foods and condiments.
Altea
Tuesday:The normal market with its numerous stalls that offer clothing, shoes and lots of other stuff can be found in the parking area right behind the towns municipal sports complex. The food market with all the fresh served products can now be found at the Avenida de la Nucia. .
